Frequently asked questions

What is a physical inventory and why outsource it?

It's the real count of your stock or assets compared against your records. Outsourcing it to an independent team like Invent brings impartiality, greater speed through PDT technology and auditable data — without pulling your staff off their jobs or disrupting operations.

What accuracy do you guarantee?

We guarantee 98% to 100% accuracy, backed by trained teams, PDT capture, control recounts and cross-validation of results.

How much does a physical inventory cost?

It depends on the number of items and locations, the type of goods, the schedule and where the project is. That is why we quote each project individually: tell us about your operation and we'll send a clear, no-obligation quote.

How long does an inventory take?

It depends on item and location volume, but thanks to PDT capture and teams sized to the project, most counts finish outside operating hours or within a single shift. We give you an estimated schedule during planning.

Do I have to close my store or warehouse?

Not always. We work 24/7 year-round: overnight counts, counts by section or cycle counts that don't interrupt operations.

How often should I take a physical inventory?

At least one full inventory at fiscal year-end, plus cycle counts during the year on the highest-value, fastest-moving or highest-shrink categories. The ideal frequency depends on your business.

Does Panama's DGI require a physical inventory?

The corporate income tax return asks companies to report closing inventory as a physical inventory by units, valued under the methods authorized by articles 65 and 66 of Executive Decree 170 of 1993. Check with your accountant how it applies to your company.

What should I prepare before the count?

Mainly: your item and location master in the agreed format, goods organized and labeled, and movements (receipts, shipments, sales) frozen or controlled during the count. We send you a guide during planning.

How are results delivered?

We deliver a report reconciled against your system, with variances by item and location, accuracy metrics and files in the format your ERP requires, in Spanish or English.

What if my products have no barcodes?

We first label them with unique codes and then scan them normally. It's part of our data capture and fixed asset services.

Which countries do you operate in?

We're based in Panama and serve the Dominican Republic, Curaçao, Aruba and Saint Martin, among others, with international reach.

Which sectors do you serve?

Retail, grocery, pharmacy, apparel and footwear, distribution centers, free zone, automotive, industry, ports, hotels and restaurants, banking, telecom, health, education and government.
